Comments: Jefferson was sent cuttings of the "Carolina Canada" peach by Timothy Matlack, who said "when fully ripe, [it is] the most juicy and highest flavored of the Clingstone peaches. It retains more of the peach flavour in brandy than any other." Named for its very large and lemon-shaped fruit, it was also known as "Kennedy's Carolina" and "Large Yellow Pineapple" peach. It was commonly sold in American nurseries beginning in 1790.
